| Scholarships
Melbourne Grammar offers a number of scholarships for boys entering Year 7 and 9. These are awarded on the basis of academic excellence determined by examinations held at the School each year. In addition there are scholarships available for boys of outstanding musical ability. All scholarships carry substantial and varying remission of fees throughout the student's time at the School. While the scholarship recipient appears to receive most of the benefits, encouraging scholars has always been and continues to be extremely beneficial for the School. Through scholarships Melbourne Grammar can embrace members of the community adding to the diversity, talent and culture of the School. Scholarships also provide the means to a develop well-rounded and talented student who might not otherwise have the chance to achieve their potential. Melbourne Grammar School offers these scholarship types:
Students already at Melbourne Grammar School in Year 6 are eligible to sit for the entrance scholarships for entry to Year 7 (Level 1). Students in Year 8 at Melbourne Grammar School are NOT eligible for entrance scholarships to Year 9 (Level 2). Dates of Testing The scholarship testing morning for boys entering Years 7 and 9 in 2010 will be held on Saturday 28 February 2009. Registrations will be accepted online from November 2008. Dates Closing date: 5pm on Thursday 19 February 2009. Late applications not accepted. Venue How to apply Cost of applying Scholarships available Music - Full remission of tuition fees. Students must sit the academic examination as well as attend an audition. Those short listed will be contacted by the Director of Music with information about their audition. AMEB level required: Keyboard - AMEB Grade 5 (Hons) or equivalent, Orchestral Instruments - Grade 4 or equivalent. For the music scholarship please check the appropriate box and enter details of your preferred musical instrument and AMEB music level.
