NEWS DATES EVENTSMGS SESQUICENTENARY OLD MELBURNIANS DINNER

Sesquicentenary Old Melburnians Dinner

Date: 7.00pm, Friday 13 June 2008
Venue: Great Hall, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne
Attire: Black Tie

The Old Melburnians Annual Dinner is a Melbourne Grammar School institution that offers a unique opportunity for past students from all peer years to reunite. Each year as members take their seats in the dining room, the old school bell is tolled, evoking the memories of past students scurrying to classes lest they be late! In the Calling of the Years, past students are invited to stand until the eldest past student is found and duly congratulated.

A highlight of the evening is always the guest speaker who in previous years has included respected sports commentator, Tim Lane; former Australian cricketer, Kerry O’Keeffe; and former Liberal Treasurer, Peter Costello. As we go to print, it is still too early to call the
speaker in 2008, however we can reveal that it will be a high-profile speaker who is sure to entertain.

The Old Melburnians Dinner will be especially popular in the Sesquicentenary year, so be sure to book early to avoid missing out on the reunion event of the year.

"The annual Old Melburnians Dinner will take on a special atmosphere during the Sesquicentenary year, with particular focus on Old Melburnians featured in the ‘Talents Committed’ Exhibition of 150 Old Melburnianswho have made a difference."

Stephen Gibbons – President of The Old Melburnians
