Grand Prix inspires learning Following the 2006 Melbourne Grand Prix a V8 Super Car and its driver Rick Kelly, as well as a Porsche Racing Car from the race visited Melbourne Grammar’s coeducational primary school Grimwade House on 4 April 2006. The visit kick started a week long study by Year 4 students on the Grand Prix as part of a combined maths, science, technology and creative thinking learning unit. Students built their own model super cars, designed race tracks, calculated speed and fuel usage, and used creative thinking to solve complex scientific queries as part of the unit. “This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance our students’ knowledge of maths, science and technology through an exciting and major Melbourne event,” said Head of Melbourne Grammar’s Grimwade House Andrew Boyd.
