Preparing your child to start school: information session Parents with pre-school age girls and boys are invited to information sessions led by early learning educators to assist parents in preparing their children for school. In the Early Learning Transition to School session Grimwade House’s Head of Junior Primary Leonie Tamblyn will present on the importance of independence, interest and involvement for children, Assistant Head (Curriculum) Glyn Howitt will discuss how to stimulate your child’s curiosity and a parent will speak about their child’s first year at school. Leading dietician Helen Wightman will discuss children’s eating habits and appropriate diets in the Unpacking the Lunch Box session. Helen Wightman has been a dietician for over 20 years and has extensive experience in paediatric nutrition having worked in hospitals and an early intervention centre. “Starting school is one of the most exciting and challenging times for a family.
