Grimwade House Christmas Fair Over 600 children and their parents sampled fairy floss, fruit punch and lots more delicious and decorative Christmas offerings at the first ever Grimwade House Christmas Fair. Sam Douros, Friends of Grammar Grimwade President said the inaugural Grimwade House Christmas Fair was a huge success. “The afternoon held much excitement with Santa Claus, fairy floss, Christmas fare and the wonderful Grimwade Dolls.” Parents and students had the opportunity to sample delicious cupcakes, so beautifully decorated the children were almost reluctant to ruin them – almost but not quite. The face painters and temporary tattoo stalls were also kept busy as children eagerly lined up to have their turn. Santa Claus arrived in a flurry on his stylish red scooter giving a hearty “Ho, Ho, Ho”. Students, parents and staff helped Santa sing a few popular carols including Jingle Bells and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer before being rewarded for their cheerful participation with a handful of sweets. Mrs Douros said the children had a marvellous time despite very hot conditions. “There was certainly no white Christmas on the oval, just very parched turf - how very Aussie! We look forward to many more family focused events in the coming years,” she said.
