Melbourne Grammar School encourages a strong partnership between families and the School throughout all the years of each student's time here.

New families are introduced to the parents' group, Friends of Grammar (FOG), and encouraged to become involved. FOG, helped by class representatives, promotes friendship and goodwill throughout the Senior School and the entire School and mobilises enormous amounts of energy, expertise and funding. It plays an important role in helping parents get to know each other and providing support when it is needed.

Friends of Grammar (FOG), helped by parent representatives for each House, including boarders' parents, helps organise and cater for art shows, morning teas and lunches, cocktail parties, plays, fairs and major fundraising events.
