At Wadhurst, we realise that adolescent boys need a diverse and relevant curriculum. With just two year levels and 12 forms, there is a wonderful opportunity to foster each young person's individual learning style.
To give each boy as much experience in as many areas as possible, the Wadhurst curriculum offers a wide range of subjects of study. You can see all the subjects Wadhurst boys have the opportunity to study on the Core Curriculum page.
There are more than 30 staff at Wadhurst, all of whom have specialist training and experience in educating 11 to 14-year old boys and all teach exclusively in the Middle School.
In addition to classroom learning, students have close contact with a small team of tutors. Tutors help with personal organisation, advise on study techniques and encourage boys to enter academic competitions and special events. They prepare students for increasingly independent learning. |
The best educational facilities available are offered at Wadhurst. In addition to its modern and purpose-built classrooms, Wadhurst has its own assembly hall, science laboratories, sports oval, sport centre, music school, library, Design Technology Centre, drama and art areas and access to Melbourne Grammar School's extensive sporting and cultural facilities.
Personal notebook computers have been fully integrated throughout the curriculum and boys share ideas, interact with peers and teachers and investigate their own learning pathways. To download a document outlining the School's Computing Programme, please click here.
Boys with special learning requirements or those needing help with particular subjects are supported by the School's Learning Strategies staff. An extension programme invites interested boys to take part in courses such as astronomy, engines, architecture, chess, debating and many others. |
