Wadhurst is Melbourne Grammar's purpose-built learning community for boys in Years 7 and 8. We specialise in educating 11 to 14 year olds and in smoothing the transition from childhood to adolescence. The school is located at our South Yarra campus, and is attended by about 340 boarders and day boys.
Our curricular programmes have been specifically designed for students who are dealing with a time of exceptional physical, social and emotional growth. The School's core curriculum is supplemented by first-rate educational facilities, co-curricular programmes and annual weeklong camps, ensuring a well-rounded education for every boy. |
Although it shares a campus with the Senior School, Wadhurst is quite distinct in both environment and focus.
Experienced teaching and administration staff have a deep understanding of adolescents and work in partnership with students and their parents in order to foster each boy's learning style.
Pastoral Care at Wadhurst is a priority. Upon entry to Year 7, a boy is assigned to one of three Houses, which function as smaller support communities within the School. Each House has its own Head and a team of tutors who act as mentors, responsible for the academic, emotional and social well being of all students within a House.
