Wadhurst is an intimate and responsive environment where each boy's needs can be understood and sensitively met. The basis of pastoral care is the House system.
Mentors include the Head of each House and a team of tutors, who are responsible for the pastoral care of the boys over their two years at Wadhurst. As a member of a House, each boy has a small support group able to care for his wellbeing.
Non-House staff members get to know and take an interest in students outside the classroom, including coaching sports teams, music, Outdoor Education, the School drama production and other co-curricular activities.

House, form or tutor groups are small, interactive and vibrant communities that embrace most aspects of School life. They allow tutors to closely monitor and deal with each student's academic, social and emotional progress. Students benefit from a sense of belonging to a cohesive group where they are known and valued.
A dedicated Student Counsellor and Chaplain are available to boys at Wadhurst. Both play vital roles in advising, supporting, nurturing and caring for students.
