An ‘in conversation’ event and podcast series featuring inspirational Old Melburnians telling the story of their life’s journey since leaving Melbourne Grammar School.

Designed to inspire, challenge, and inform OMs around the world about navigating life, careers, education, success, failure, relationships, and taking on new challenges, our goal is to provide OMs with connections, fresh insights, and new ways of thinking.

Old Melburnians are invited to join a conversation featuring Huw Birrell (OM 1997) the Co-Founder and Co-Managing Director of Fresho a tech company providing software for the food industry.

Fresho is a Business-to-Business platform that facilitates the ordering between restaurants (ie. Rockpool, Donovans), QSR’s (Subway, Nando’s), Independent supermarkets (IGA, Foodworks) and their food suppliers.  Moving ordering from phone, fax, emails and texts, online.  Fresho works with approximately 20,000 business in Australia, NZ, UK and US.

Prior to Fresho, Huw worked as an Investment Banker in Australia and South America raising capital for various companies and worked with a number of technology start-ups.

In conversation with Nik Devidas, Huw will talk about his journey to creating a successful start-up with a unique and ambitious goal, he will share tips on raising funding, influencing stakeholders, and growing a successful tech business which now processes almost $1 billion in gross order value per annum. Huw will reveal his key ingredients for a successful start-up and will talk openly about the obstacles and challenges that he experienced on his journey to career fulfillment.
