Who can apply for a Boarding Scholarship?
Our Boarding Scholarships celebrate students of strong character who come from rural, regional, and interstate locations across Australia.
Successful Boarding Scholarship candidates demonstrate the following:
- the ability to make a positive and significant contribution to the life of the School and above all to boarding
- an exemplary work ethic
- academic potential
- strong co-curricular engagement
- they would not otherwise be able to attend the School as a boarder without the financial support of a scholarship
Ideally, students will enter the School at Year 7 or Year 9, but applications are also welcomed for entry to Years 8, 10, and 11, subject to availability.

Eligibility
You are eligible to apply for a boarding scholarship if:
- you live regionally, rurally, or interstate (outside the Melbourne metropolitan area)
- you understand that the structure of boarding at Melbourne Grammar School is a full-time offering, meaning students are generally expected to remain in the boarding house over weekends
