First Nations Bursaries support First Nations students’ achievements and help create a shared future.
By supporting our First Nations Bursaries Program, you will help more First Nations Australians discover new strengths through exceptional educational opportunities. Your gift will encourage First Nations students to re-shape their thinking about future possibilities and to consider new horizons.
We want all Melbourne Grammar students to value and respect First Nations culture. To achieve this, we have built rich learning opportunities and programs to enable genuine understanding. Our First Nations students often play a key role in increasing this cultural understanding and in the development of strong cultural bonds among all students.
Melbourne Grammar School is committed to raising $7.5m from philanthropic support to ensure 15 First Nations students can attend the School in any given year. Thanks to donor support, and our partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation, more than $1.6m of this total has already been raised.
Each bursary provides most of the financial assistance needed to cover tuition, boarding and selected incidental fees. Thirty-two First Nations students have already benefited from the First Nations Program, with 24 already completing their VCE.
