Future designer makes waves

Meet Jasper Fisher, 2016 Art Co-captain and recipient of the Will Ballantyne Scholarship for Visual Arts.

For his VCE Design Technology Unit, Jasper designed and built a hydrofoil board to attach to a specialised surfboard and wakeboard. His aim was to lift the board out of the water so that it could move faster and more efficiently, and improve comfort in choppy conditions.

Jasper plans to utilise the project management, problem-solving and practical skills he learned through Design Technology – including working with computer-based design programs such as CAD and producing models using 3D printers – to pursue a career in architecture.
