I love working in education because it offers such positive working environment. At Melbourne Grammar School, I have the opportunity to work in an organisation that is large enough to be able to do significant things, but not so large that it has become impersonal. The School has a wonderful balance in terms of size.

I enjoy the sheer variety of the work the comes across my desk, from working with School Council and its committees to supporting those in Property Services, Finance, Risk Management, IT, Catering, Human Resources, and other areas.

Some of the more recent projects I’ve been involved with include the creation of our new Science and Technology Hub, introducing new risk management processes, and building processes to handle increasing compliance requirements. I’ve also supported our significant investment in IT infrastructure—an investment you can’t see but one that puts us in a strong position to respond as the world changes.

Fundamentally, the School is here for our students, and we can’t achieve our educational objectives without high quality well-resourced teaching staff. We also need excellent general staff who are able to support them and steer our activity in specialist areas. I hope I’ve contributed by tackling the issues, large and small, that have come across my desk in a way that seeks to support and enhance our educational offering.
